Youth Arts Camp


Friday, July 25  is the Arts Camp reception and performance.  The reception starts at 6:30pm at the Artists Hand Gallery and then we will move across the street to the playhouse for a show at 7:00.  The show is free and open to the public – performance will  last about an hour!

Arts Camp is open to students from first grade through the senior high (the grade the student has just finished).  Students will be grouped 1st & 2nd, 3rd & 4th, 5th & 6th and 7th -12th.  We offer, Art, Music, and Theater.  Students may sign up for individual classes or the entire day.  We will provide a supervised snack and restroom break between elementary classes; students staying the whole day should pack a lunch.  Grades 7-12 are on their own for lunch.  If you must cancel please notify the director as soon as possible, as we may not refund your money after July 1st.  Deadline for theater registration is July 1st.  Please note there is a discount of $25 for all day registrations received before June 15th.  We take pictures for publicity purposes – Please note on the registration form if you allow your child’s pictures to be used.  For more information or registration forms check out our website, or call Trish Dodson (724) 465-9322.

Dates: July 14 – 18 (grades 1-6) and July 21-25 (grades 7-12).  Shows will be on Friday evening at 7:00pm.  This is mandatory for theater participants!

Place:  First week – Indiana Junior High School   (air conditioned)

Second week – Artists Hand Gallery & Indiana Players Inc. Philadelphia Street Playhouse.

Fees:  for elementary classes $125 for the entire week, secondary week classes $150.  Deadline for theater classes is July 1stThere is a $25 discount if registered before June 15th

Arts Camp Ben Loreno Memorial Award

benlorenoFor the last six years we have been privileged to be able to present a worthy arts camper who is graduating high school with an award of $200 in memory of a former Arts Camper, Ben Loreno.  To be eligible for this award the senior must have participated in Arts Camp at least 3 years or more.  To qualify the student must be continuing their study of some form of art (visual, musical, drama, video, writing….) in a post secondary school.  We ask that the senior who is interested write a brief essay on what Arts Camp and the arts have meant to them.  Deadline for the award application is May 14th, 2014.  Please send the essay to Trish Dodson c/o Arts camp Award, 33 Jeffrey St, Indiana, PA 15701

We welcome any donations made in Ben’s memory toward this memorial award.  Please make checks out to Indiana Art Association with “Ben Loreno award” in the memo line and send to the above address.
